Walt Disney once said, “You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.” This quote resonates with me because it reflects two things I enjoy most: building great companies and leading teams to push beyond their limits.
I discovered my love for creating things at an early age, when I regularly immersed myself in building Lego structures, completing complex puzzles and developing computer programs. Years later as a business executive, my passion for the creative process hasn’t dissipated. Today I am deeply involved in building, improving and optimizing companies, such as SteadyPay, Enso Ventures, Detego and Cambridge Nanotherm. The creative process I use today – which involves daydreaming, sketching out ideas, and developing feasible plans - is the same as it was in my youth
In the end, great ideas only have value if they can be brought to fruition. Recognizing this, I relentlessly pursue the flawless execution and delivery of strategies and plans. I cannot execute on my own, however, and depend on the capabilities and engagement of my team. You win with people, and that is why I invest a significant amount of time developing my team members to be the best versions of themselves – both professionally and personally. I also take the time to inspire, influence and motivate my employees to believe in the vision/strategy – and each other – as there is a direct correlation between engagement and effort, and effort and results.

Strategically placed by the Enso Ventures executive team into Executive Director roles for two businesses within their portfolio: Detego - an enterprise software provider, and Cambridge Nanotherm – a nano ceramic semiconductor manufacturer. Analysed and made comprehensive operational and financial improvements to both companies. Provided sales leadership by representing the company in client / partner introductions and contract / commercial terms negotiations. Managed all aspects of fundraising efforts, such as market mapping, term sheet / legal negotiations, due diligence and execution across key stakeholder groups (government, financial / strategic investors and financial institutions).
